Kane, John R.

80 yrs.  pioneer bridge builder and twice mayor of Charlotte. Buried
Assumption Cem. Charlotte. Born April 14, 1866 in Vandalia, NY, son of
Patrick and Catherine Kane.  On Nov 29, 1905 he married Elizabeth
McGarry in St. Patrick's Villa Nova. Surviving are his widow and 2
sons John J., Mayor of Charlotte and Robert of Hanover, Ill.; 2
daughters Mrs. Ruth Clifford of Charlotte and Mrs.  J. J. Reynolds of
Davenport.; 3 grandchildren and a brother M. J. Kane of Des Moines.
