Robert G. Kane Feb 9 2001 12:00AM Robert G. Kane, 89, of Rochester, Minn., and formerly of Charlotte, died Jan. 22 at the Charter House in Rochester. A memorial mass was conducted at the Charter House with Monsignor Gerald Mahon officiating. The body was cremated. Burial was at Assumption Cemetery in Charlotte. The Macken Funeral Home in Rochester was in charge of arrangements. He was born May 9, 1911, in Charlotte. On June 18, 1945, he married Marilyn Wurster in Elizabeth, Ill. He attended Charlotte schools, received a bachelor of science degree from St. Ambrose College in Davenport and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Iowa. He did post-graduate work at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colo., and the University of Illinois and Northern Illinois University. He was a business teacher in Illinois public schools for 30 years and for two years at Albuquerque (N.M.) Business College. During his retirement, he lived in Albuquerque and then in Mesa, Ariz., for 10 years before moving to the Charter House in 1989. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the honorary business fraternities, Delta Pi Epsilon and Pi Omega Phi. Survivors include his wife; and a sister, Rita Reynolds of Charlotte.
