DeWITT, Iowa -- Services for Kathy McGarry, of DeWitt, will be 10:30
a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt. Burial will be
in St. Joseph Cemetery, DeWitt. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today at
Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, with a rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a vigil
at 7:30 p.m. Mrs. McGarry died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998, at her
home. Better known as "The Church Lady," she was employed as secretary
at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Kathy Stroud was born Aug.  25, 1951,
in Altus, Okla. She married Steve McGarry in 1970. Memorials may be
made to the family. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Melinda
McGarry Hartmann, DeWitt; sons, Jason and Andrew McGarry, both of
DeWitt; a grandson; her stepfather, Wayne Henricksen, Clinton; and
brothers, Lynn Stroud, Caldwell, Texas, and Bill Stroud, Camanche.
