LUCEY, ALBERTA Alberta Lucey, our most beloved relative and friend, died Feb. 4, 2004, in Logan, Utah. She was born in Marcus, Iowa on Oct. 16, 1925, to Clara and George Lucey. After attending high school at St. Angelus Academy in Carroll, Iowa, she joined the Federal Aviation Administration. Alberta served in flight service stations for 10 years before becoming an air traffic controller. After serving in Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming and South Dakota, Alberta moved to Colorado to work at the Denver Control Center. When the Denver Center moved to Longmont, CO, Alberta served as an air traffic controller team supervisor. She retired in 1980, enjoying many years with her friends and family. Alberta moved to Logan, Utah in May of 2000 where she continued to enjoy life and the mountain scenery. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Rosemary, Kathleen, Genevieve, and brother Robert. Her surviving and wonderful sister Joan lives in Newport Beach, CA. Alberta was also loved and admired by 16 nieces and nephews. Her charm, grace, and humor will be remembered as she will always be our shining star.
