Henry Michael Deegan Henry M. Deegan, formerly of Boone, died Thursday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Wilhelm, 1159 18th St., Des Moines, after an illness of 2 months duration, suffering from paralysis. He was buried from St. Joseph Catholic church Saturday morning at 9:00 o'clock . Interment took place in St. Ambrose cemetery. Deceased leaves a wife, Margaret Deegan and one daughter, Mary. He was born in Queen's county, Ireland in 1846. He came to America at the age of 12 years; residing in Rochester, New York, until he was 23 years, the time of his enlistment with Company C. 9th Infantry. after 10 years service he went to Fort Hartsoff and resided for five years. In 1885 he married Margaret Lucey of Boone. In 1886 he came to Boone and resided for 19 years. Since then he has lived in Des Moines. Deegan, a former well known resident of this city, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Wilhelm, in Des Moines, on Thursday, November 16th. He was sixty five years of age. The funeral was held on Saturday morning at 9:00 oclock from St. Jophns Catholic church and the remains laid to rest in St. Ambrose cemetery in Des Moines. The deceased was a resident of Boone for many years until his removal to Des Moines about six years ago. He is survived by his wife and daughter.
