Alice V. Lucey MERRILL, Iowa -- Alice V. Lucey, 101, of Fountain Valley, Calif., formerly of Merrill died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at her daughter's residence in Fountain Valley. Arrangements are under the direction of Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Mrs. Lucey was born June 23, 1899, near Merrill, the daughter of Hiram and Barbara (Barnett) Greenwood. She attended country school near Merrill. She married Joseph Lucey in Merrill. The couple farmed for a few years and later moved to Le Mars, where she lived for 45 years. Her husband died in 1959. She moved to Fountain Valley in 1990. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed crocheting. Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Lois and Terry Haberman of Fountain Valley; six grandchildren, Stacey Drinan, Alicia, Damian, Doric, Dominic and Barry Haberman; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, George Greenwood; a sister, Florence Berger; three half sisters, Emma Albright, Margaret Rozell and Elizabeth Cumihow; and four half brothers, Frank, Bill, Ed and Johnny Albright.
