Joanne Sohn Joanne Sohn, 71, of Camarillo, passed away on Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, after a lengthy illness, which she fought bravely for many years. She was a resident of Ventura County for 41 years. Joanne was born on April 19, 1935, to Cyril and Bertha Wolfe. She came from a large family of 12 siblings and was the middle of the bunch, along with her twin sister, Diane. Joanne had a gift and loved working in special education for 25 years, last working at Douglas Penfield School. Most important to Joanne was her family; she loved outings, barbecues, parties and trips to Las Vegas. Joanne will be missed by her family and friends, which include her husband, Bill, to whom she was married for 54 years; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie Walter and Dub Meeks, of Camarillo; son Dan Sohn, of Camarillo; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Teresa Sohn, of Ventura; brother-in-law Richard Sohn, of Huntington Beach; sisters, Sister Mary Cyrilla, of Denver, Colo., Barbara Vasquez and Jackie Cleghorn, both of Huntington Beach, Angie White, of Camarillo, and Elaine Giardini and her husband, Steve, of Simi Valley; twin sister, Diane Taul and her husband, John, of Sacramento; brothers, John Wolfe and his wife, Kathleen, of Morro Bay, David Wolfe, of San Diego, and Michael Wolfe, of Apple Valley; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Joanne was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Debbie Sohn, in September of this year. Chapel services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, in the Chapel of the Islands at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park. Burial will follow in the park. Debbie was born Jan. 18, 1956, in Litchfield, Minn., and had been a Camarillo resident for 43 years. She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 34 years, Danny Sohn; daughters, Dawn Sohn and Danielle Thaden (husband Shawn Thaden); grandson, the sparkle of her eye, Hayes Owen Thaden and a grandchild-to-be; parents, Pat and Nan McCandless; and sister Jodie McCandless (Mike Loza). Debbie was preceded in death by her brother, Todd McCandless, and family and friends. Debbie's passion for life and courageous spirit will be missed but not forgotten. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26 in the chapel of Conejo Mountain Funeral Home with burial to follow at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park, Camarillo.
