Last Rites John Cloud Held Here Former Resident Died at Home of Daughter In Rochester, Ind. John W. Cloud, former Van Buren resident, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. M.L. Camblin, in Rochester, at noon Sunday following a short illness. Mr. Cloud, for a number of years, had a heart ailment, and this was the immediate cause of his death. John Cloud was well and favorably known throughout this section. As a clerk in local stores some years ago he made many acquaintances. And his fairness and honesty, coupled with courtesy and efficiency, made him many friends John W. Cloud was the son of James and Elizabeth Cloud. He was born in Wells Co. Ind. Dec. 9, 1857. At an early age he moved with his family to a farm near Van Buren. He moved to Van Buren in 1910, where he resided until August 1934, when he and Mrs. Cloud went to live with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. And Mrs. Milton Camblin. He was united in marriage with Mary L. Duckwall Aug. 27, 1885. To this union 4 children were born; 2 sons, Elbridge who died March 12, 1917, and Clarence who died in infancy, preceded him in death. Survivors are the widow, Mary L. Cloud, Rochester; Leroy Cloud, of Little Rock, Ark; Mrs. Camblin, of Rochester; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Mr. Cloud united with the Central Church of Christ in Van Buren on March 6, 1921, and remained faithful to its vows until death took him to the church triumphant on August 15, 1937, at age of 79 years, 8 months and 6 days. Short funeral services were held at the Central Church of Christ at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, in charge of the pastor Rev. Harper McCune. Internment was in the van Buren cemetery. CLOUD, 79, died Sunday noon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. L. M. CAMBLIN, 1201 S. Madison street, Rochester, following a brief illness. Short services will be held at the Camblin residence Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock with Rev. Charles MILLS officiating and final rites will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in Central Church of Christ, Van Buren, Ind., of which Mr. Cloud was a member. Rev. Harper McCUNE will be in charge of services and burial will be made at Van Buren. John W. Cloud, son of James and Elizabeth CLOUD, was born in Wells county, Indiana, Dec. 9, 1857. At an early age he moved to near Van Buren with his family. Later he moved to Van Buren and resided there until August 1934 when he and Mrs. Cloud came to live in Rochester. He was united in marriage with Mary L. DUCKWALL August 27, 1885 and to this union four children were born. Two sons, Clarence [CLOUD] and Elbrage [CLOUD] preceded him in death. Survivors are his wife, Mary L. CLOUD, Rochester; Leroy CLOUD, Little Rock, Ark., and Mrs. CAMBLIN. Four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Cloud had been in ill health for the past several years, it was stated. For the past three years, Mrs. Cloud made her home with her daughter Mrs. L. M. CAMBLIN, 1201 Madison street this city. Her husband, John CLOUD preceded her in death six months ago. The survivors are the daughter, Mrs. L. M. CAMBLIN, of this city and a son, L. E. CLOUD, of Little Rock, Arkansas. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon, two o'clock at the Central Church of Christ, Van Buren, Ind. Rev. Harper McCUNE will officiate. Burial will be made in the Van Buren cemetery. The body will lie in state at the home of Mrs. L. M. Camblin until 2:30 o'clock p.m. Sunday. The funeral cortege will then leave this city for the home of Mrs. Cloud's brother, F. L. Camblin Mrs. Mable L. CAMBLIN, 65, who lived on Country Club drive on the east side of Lake Manitou, died of emphysema at 2 p.m. Thursday in Woodlawn hospital. Ill about one year, she was admitted to the hospital Tuesday. Mrs. Camblin was the wife of Milton CAMBLIN, Rochester furniture store owner for many years. She had lived in Rochester vicinity since Aug. 29, 1929, Foir many years, Mrs. Camblin was employed in a retail department store and in later years was in the furniture and appliance business. Born near Van Buren in Grant county, Aug. 29, 1899, she was the daughtr of John W. and Mary L. DUCKWALL CLOUD. She was married Oct. 18, 1916 in Marion. Surviving with the husband are two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Joan) McNEIL, Indio, Cal., and Mrs. Robert (Wilda) PENNELL, R.R. 2, Rochester; a brother, L. E. CLOUD, Lakeland, Fla.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and two nephews. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with the Rev. Graham MARSH officiating. Burial will be at Van Buren Masonic cemetery, with graveside services at 2 p.m. Monday. Friends may call at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home after 7 p.m. today. Milton Camblin L. Milton CAMBLIN, 79, retired local merchant, died Saturday at 11:05 p.m. at Woodlawn hospital after an extended illness. He formerly resided in Country Club drive, east shore of Lake Manitou. Last rites will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with the Rev. David HEYWARD officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic cemetery at Van Buren, where thre will be graveside services at noon. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. The family requests that memorials other than flowers be made to the heart fune or charity of donor's choice. Born Nov. 10, 1895, at Van Buren, he was the son of Jasper and Emma BANTER CAMBLIN. His marriage was Oct. 18, 1916, at Marion, to Mabel CLOUD, who died Oct. 22, 1964. Mr. Camblin came to the city in 1929 as manager of the Boston Store, now the P. N. Hirsch location. In the 1950s he left that firm to open a furniture store directly north and later, when the Boston Store ceased business, occupied the entire area as well as a used furniture outlet to the rear. He retired in 1964. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Wilda) PENNELL, Rochester, and Mrs. Donald (Joan) NcNEIL, Palm Harbor, Fla.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; half-brother, Charles CAMBLIN, Van Buren, and two sisters, Mrs. Hamp (Goldie) JOHNSTON, Louisville, Ky., and Mrs. Albert (Belva) ROWE, Van Buren.
