Dr. Shipman's Residence Burned The residence of Dr. Shipman, at Fourteenth and Locust streets was nearly totally destroyed by fire at 10:30 o'clock this morning. The origin of the fire is not positively known, but it is supposed to have caught from a chimney. The fire department responded promptly to the alarm and soon had two streams playing on the flames. The strong wind which was blowing at the time made the fire very difficult to get under control. The lost is estimated at $2,000, with an insurance of $1,400, in the Western of Toronto. A portion of the furniture was saved in damaged condition. March 27, 1894. Presumably the Plattsmouth, NE newspaper. Retyped 1998, Dennis Nicklaus -------------------------------
