I, John Morgan, Nicholas Co. and State of Ky. being sick in body and in a low state of health, yet perfectly sound in mind and memory, thanks be to God for it, but calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to dye, I do make and ordain this my last will and testement, that is to say, first of all I do recommend my soul to God who gin it and my body to the earth from whence it came, to be buried in a decent manner in hopes that it shall be restored at the Ressurection, and as touching such worldly effects as it has pleased God to bless as with in this life, I do give and bequeath in the manner following: First of all, my lawful debts to be fully discharged, second: to my true and loving wife, Agnes Morgan I do give and bequeath the one third of my estate, real and personal and all the household furniture, two cows and all the hogs, corn and rye except what Samuel Kincaid is to have and also the half of the wheat for the use of the family. Thirdly, I do allow and bequeath to my two childran Murriah and Jefferson the rest of my estate real and personal to be equally divided between them except one set of silver teaspoons which I allow to my daughter Murriah, but if both my children should die before the arrival at full age, I do allow their part to be given to their mother. I also do allow and appoint my wife, Agnes, and Reece Morgan my whole and sole executors of this my lost will and testament and I do utterly revoke disallow and disclain all and every other former testament, will or legacy, to rectify and confirm this and no other be my last will and testiment. In Witness whereof, I have set my hand, affixed my seal this 13th day of December in the year of our Lord, eighteen hundred and seven. February Court, 1808 the last will and testament of John Morgan, dec'd, was produced in Court and proven by the oath of Francis Ray and James Ardery, proscribing witnesses thereto and craved to be received, and on a motion of Reece Morgan and Agnes Morgan, executors therein named who made oath thereto and together with Nancy Ray and Thomas Cotrell, their sureties, entered into and acknowledged bond in the penalty of 180 pounds conditionally agreeable to law, certificate of law is granted them for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.
