Clerk-Treasurer Fred D Lewis Fred D Lewis, Clerk-Treasurer of the City of Seymour, is currently in his fourth term as Clerk-Treasurer. He was elected in 1991 and ran un-opposed in 1995, 1999, and 2003. As Clerk-Treasurer he oversees the operation of the sanitation utility office and acts as secretary for the Board of Public Works and Safety. Fred is a lifelong resident of Seymour, having graduated from Seymour Senior High School in 1966. He then attended and graduated from Indiana State University, Terre Haute, Indiana in 1970 with a degree in Business Administration. Prior to being elected Clerk-Treasurer, he held several business positions within local businesses, serving in retail sales and business management fields. Fred is single and has never been married. He is a Past Exalted Ruler of Seymour Elks Lodge #462 and currently holds the position of Lodge Secretary, which he has held for the past several years. For many years, he has also served on the board of directors for the Seymour Oktoberfest and has served as the board secretary. Also, for many years he has been involved with Jackson County Community Theater and has served numerous terms on their board of directors.
