Mrs. Lucretia Morgan Person was born near Paris, KY in 1807.  In the
15th year of her life, she immigrated to Indiana.  At 20 she married
John Weathers Pierson, who departed this life in 1855 after which
Mrs. Pierson lived in widowhood.  For 40 years she was a resident of
Jackson Co.  Mrs. Pierson embraced the Christian Religion at age 15.
She was fond, faithful and self-sacrificing mother whose religious
example was a model to her family.  In her declining years she
presented each child with a bible and admonished them to read it and
not forget their Redeemer.  Consumption marked her as a victim.
Having just returned from Iowa....died Seymour, Ind. at 3:30
p.m. 6-23-1871.  funeral M.E. Church 4 p.m. 6-24-1871.
