Terre Haute Tribune-Star Feb. 5, 2000 Obituaries Vigo County (copied from Online Story archives at http://Library.Tribstar.com/) Lydia Scott Morgan Lydia Scott Morgan, 94, of Terre Haute died at 2:50 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, in Royal Oaks Health Care & Rehabilitation Center. She was a retired school teacher from the Vigo County School Corp. She was born Oct. 24, 1905, in Vigo County to Marshall Scott and Hannah Pratt Scott. Her first husband, McKinley Kitterman, died in 1939; her second husband, Harvey E. Morgan, died in 1981. Survivors include one daughter, Nelda Mayfield of Austin, Texas; two stepsons, Ralph Morgan and his wife, Doris of Terre Haute and Fred Morgan of Pocono Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Ronald Mayfield and his wife, Peggy, Greg Scott Mayfield, Todd Mayfield and his wife, Denise, all of Austin, and Lou Ann Pence, Cindy Morgan, Scott Morgan and Tim Morgan, all of Terre Haute and Carolyn Stanton of Portland, Ore.; three great-great-grandchildren; one stepdaughter-in-law, Lois Morgan of Terre Haute; one sister-in-law, Mary Catherine Scott of Terre Haute; four nephews, Paul Scott, John Scott, Bob Scott and Wayne Wells; and three nieces, Roseann Campbell, Joy McCrisaken and Norma Scott. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, Virgil and Everett Scott; one stepson, Earl Morgan; and two sisters, Emily Wells and Lillian Scott. She was a member of Prairieton United Methodist Church, a 50-year member of Chapter 516 Order of Eastern Star, a member of Indiana State Teachers Association and Vigo County Teachers Association. She was a graduate of Indiana State Teachers College and was a resident of Westminster Village for 11 years. Services are 2:30 p.m. Sunday in DeBaun Springhill Chapel. Burial is in New Harmony Cemetery. Visitation is noon until services Sunday. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Prairieton United Methodist Church, 3720 W.
