In Loving Memory of Janel (Lukasiewicz) Paswaters Oct. 5, 1964 - Feb. 19, 2006 Janel Mariann Paswaters, born Oct. 5, 1964, will forever be in our hearts and thoughts for the legacy she leaves behind her. Jan was the loving and supportive wife of Darrell Paswaters. She admired Darrell and assisted and encouraged him with his work, made his home in Lyons a refuge and place of comfort, enjoyed camping, fishing and water-skiing with him, and together they cared for the horses which Jan enjoyed immensely. Their mountain property was a dream come true for Jan, and her wildflower garden and her gracious heart welcomed any visitor. Jan was the proud mother to 4-year-old twins, Isaac and Isabelle, born Sept. 16, 2001. She enjoyed each day with the children, whether playing on the swingset, walking along the countryside, reading books, visiting friends or family or singing showboat tunes together. Her conscientious efforts to protect them showed the intensity of her love, as did her time spent teaching them to pray. Jan put her career on hold and dedicated her time to sharing her joy and love of life with her children. Jan was preceded in death by her father, Darryl, and sister Dana; and survived by her mother, Romelle Lukasiewicz; sister Jodi Thompson; and brothers Del, Chris and Ward Lukasiewicz. Growing up in Caņon City, she was one of six children. Jan was always willing to meet every need to help her mom and dad. She sacrificed her time and energy, never complaining and always praying for others" comfort and protection. Growing up, Jan was very athletic, earnings honors in swimming, and later in life she enjoyed time on the golf course with her siblings. She successfully graduated from University of Colorado nursing college, and thoroughly enjoyed her career. She was designated as the family "unionizer," and until her death, Feb. 19, 2006, held on to her passion for family times. Jan loved her husband's parents, Dorothy and Charlie Paswaters, and her sisters- in-law, Mikki Hirschfeld and Char Day, and their families with all her heart. They enjoyed vacations in Cozumel and many family picnics, camping trips and Broncos games. Jan was proud to have a family so committed to helping her through her disease and investing time and energy into her children. Jan's most admirable quality, agreed on by all, was her strong Christian faith and her ability to live by that faith. Her courageous fight with cancer for three years was one example of the strength she possessed. She was strong in opinion and inspired and challenged friends and family. Her sense of humor added a special touch to all that she was, and her patience and understanding conveyed love to all. Jan will forever be thought of as a loving wife and mother, a special daughter and sister, a dedicated daughter-in-law and sister-in-law, a committed friend, a hard worker, a cancer fighter, a favorite aunt to 31 nieces and nephews and a woman who deeply loved God. Memorial services for Jan will be held at LifeBridge Christian Church in Longmont on Friday, Feb. 24, at 10 a.m. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary, Longmont. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made at any First Bank to the Isaac and Isabelle Memorial Fund. Cards can be mailed to Jodi Thompson, 9872 Quay Way, Westminster 80021. Paswaters Jewell MURRAY--Grace Paswaters Jewell, wife, mother, grandmother, died peacefully at the age of 85, surrounded by family, on March 21, 1999 in Draper, Utah. Grace was born on November 16, 1913 to Oscar W. and Elverda Emma Paswaters in Lyndall, Utah and was raised in Leamington, Utah. She married Jesse M. Jewell on March 16, 1932 and had been married 50 years at the time of Jesse's death in 1981. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. She had served in the Primary and Relief Society, and enjoyed researching genealogy. Following Jesse's death, Grace continued living at 6th East and 4500 South in the home the couple had built in the late 1950's. During her 18 years as a widow, Grace devoted her energies to gardening and preserving the harvest for the long winter months. She enjoyed inviting her children and grandchildren to her home for dinner where she proudly prepared and served the fresh fruits and vegetables from her orchard and garden. Grace's concerns were not for herself but rather at Christmas time, how she could save a few dollars from her small pension to give to each grandchild. Grace's family sincerely thanks the staff at Central Valley Dialysis, Draper Care Center, and especially her primary care physicians, Dr. Sharon Lee and Dr. Elisabet Atkin-Thor, for their care and concern during the past two years. Grace is survived by three sons, Kent J. (Sharon) Jewell, Kenneth A. (Kea) Jewell, Dan McBride; two daughters, Christine (Paul) Jensen, Julie Anderson; two brothers, Dick (Donna) Paswaters, Jack (Chris) Paswaters; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Sylvia, parents, two sisters and two brothers.
