He was born March 20, 1916 in Kellogg the son of Ernest and Ada Morgan Sturdevant. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sat., May 24 at Sorden Cemetery near Webster. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. at Walden Place, 2423 Walden Road, Iowa City. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.S. in Commerce and spent most of his career in the field of agribusiness. During World War II, he served in the Army in the Philippines and achieved the rank of major. Max was an avid Hawkeye fan and enjoyed lapidary, wood working, and visiting with family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Shirley McRevey Sturdevant; two sons, Craig Sturdevant (Dr. Ruthi), Jefferson City, MO, and Dr. Ray Sturdevant (Marlene), Sioux City, IA; and two daughters, Dr. Kaye Winder, Coralville, IA and Jane Turner (James), Springfield, IL; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on May 24, 2008 at Sorden Cemetary in Webster, Iowa. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm at Walden Place, 2423 Walden Road, Iowa City, IA.
