Old Pioneer Dead Thomas Morgan of Webster Died Monday Webster, Sept. 15.-Thomas Morgan died at the home of his son T. A. in Webster Tuesday, September 15, 1903. H was born in Bourbon county, Kentucky, September 17, 1814 and moved to Scott county, Indiana, when he was 12 years of age. In January, 1839, he was married to Polly Ballard. To this union were born eight children. Only one is now living. His first wife died in 1856. He was again married in 1859 to Mary A. McBride. To this union four children were born three of whom are living Myra, Jennie and Thomas A. He moved to Iowa in 1846 and has resided here ever since. His wife died April 5, 1891 and he has since lived with his children. On August 1, in Webster he fell on a sidewalk while going downtown fracturing his hip. He suffered for five weeks when death claimed him. He lacked only three days of being 89 years old. The funeral services were held in Webster Wednesday, September 16 conducted by Rev. John Davis of Beacon. the body was laid to rest in the Sorden cemetery. Thomas Morgan was a fine old man, well liked and he will be missed by a score of friends and acquaintances.
