E. E. Morrison Dies Aug. 20 Edward E. (Pete) Morrison, age 69, of Spencer, died in a Spencer hospital August 20. He was born October 29, 1908, to Edward and Mary Etta Morrison at Keswick. He graduated from Keswick High School and Iowa State University at Ames. He taught school in Kinross, Hartford, South Dakota and Whiting and then became an extension director and real estate agent. He married Ada Mains of Sioux Falls, S. D., June 4, 1931. Survivors include his wife, Ada; two daughters, Jo Ann Carey of El Cajon, Ca., and Gertrude Heiman of Northridge, Ca. one son Edward Earl Jr. of El Cajon, Ca.; six grand children; four brothers, Ellis of Keswick, Roscoe of Des Moines, Elmer of Sigourney and Raymond of North English and two sisters, Mrs. Clem (Ruth) Seiwert of Sigourney and Mary Ferne Franklin of Iowa City. He was preceded in death by two brothers Forrest and Orville and one sister Hattie Wilkerson. Funeral services were held at the First Congregational Church in Spencer August 23 with burial at Riverside Cemetery at Spencer. Publication unknown. Re-typed by Lyman Morrison, 1994. Obituary of Edward Earl "Pete" Morrison Edward Earl Morrison was born October 29, l908 in Keokuk County, Iowa to Ed and Mary Etta Scott Morrison. The family lived in the Keswick community and it was there that Mr. Morrison, known familiarly as Pete, received his elementary and high school education. He then attended Iowa State and following graduation became a Smith-Hughes Agriculture teacher at Hartford, South Dakota. On June 4, 1931, he married Ada Minnie Main and continued his teaching at Whiting, Iowa. Pete was a County Extension Director serving Monona County for 2 years, Clay County for 10 years and Polk County for 2 years. In 1949 Pete returned to Spencer where he became a G. I. instructor of Agriculture. Pete was active in farm management. He held an Iowa Real Estate Broker's license and was a land appraiser. Pete considered his most important service to be his helping to organize the Rural Electrical Association in both Monona and Clay Counties. In 1963, he received a 25 year service award from the National Farm Institute. He was listed in The Agricultural Personalities of the West and Midwest in 1971.
