EDWARD MORRISON
                                            
  Edward Morrison, son of James and Harriet Ann Morrison was born August 
  1, 1874 and departed this life January 26, 1938 at the age of 63 years, 
  five months and 13 days. Mr. Morrison  was raised in Keokuk county but  
  lived in Adair county from 1901 through  1905. In 1906 he moved to his  
  home in Keokuk county where he spent the rest of his life.
  
  On November 10, 1895 he became united in marriage to Nellie Struble and 
  to this union  were born  three children;  Ellis of  Keswick, Lulu Mae  
  Wilkerson of North English and Owen, who died in infancy. Mrs. Morrison 
  died in 1900.
  
  On October 15, 1901, he became united in marriage to Mary Etta Scott and 
  to this union were  born nine children, Charline  who died in infancy,  
  Forrest and Ruth Sievert, both of Webster; Orville of Wellman; Edward of 
  Spencer; Roscoe of Onawa;  Elmer of Sigourney;  Raymond of Keswick and  
  Fern Franklin of  Iowa City.  His second  wife preceded  him in death,  
  passing away January 3, 1919.
  
  Mr. Morrison  carried the  responsibility of  rearing his  children to  
  manhood and  womanhood  after the  death  of their  mother.  He worked  
  willingly for the  betterment of his  community and schools.  He was a  
  good neighbor and was always present in time of sickness and sorrow.
  
  He leaves to mourn their loss, besides  his children, two sisters, Neva 
  Alice Mahannah, Miami, Florida, and Mrs. Dodie Shugar of Chicago, four  
  brothers, Benjamin of Mapleton, Albert and Morley of Chicago and Charles 
  of North English and  23 grandchildren, besides a  host of friends and  
  neighbors.
  
  The funeral service will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from 
  the Methodist Protestant church at Keswick, in charge of the Rev. L. W. 
  Fillmore of Kalona,  assisted by  the Rev. W.  H. Cole,  pastor of the  
  church. Burial will be made in Sorden cemetery.

                             MARY ETTA SCOTT
                                            
  Mary Etta Scott was born May 10th, 1882, and departed this life January 
  3rd, 1919 aged 36 years, 7 months and 23 days.
  
  Her childhood days were spent with her parents. Mr and Mrs. A. F. Scott 
  near North English.  On October 5th,  1901 she was  united in marriage  
  with Edward Morrison and  to this union nine  children have been born:  
  Forest, Orville, Edward, Ruth, Roscoe,  Elmer, Raymond and Mary Ferne.  
  She has also  been a  real mother to  her two  stepchildren, Ellis and  
  Hattie.
  
  Mary Etta united with the Christian Church at North English at the age  
  of 14, and while her many home duties have kept her from active work in 
  the church she has always been a faithful member.
  
  She has been a loving wife and a devoted mother and was never too busy 
  to minister to the needs, not only of her own large family, but those of 
  her many friends and neighbors.
  
  A few days ago she was stricken  down with influenza and after a brief  
  sickness she passed away.
  
  She was  preceded in  death by  her  little daughter,  Jenna Charlena,  
  leaving to morn  her departure  her husband  and children,  mother and  
  father, two sisters, Mrs. Ona Cox and Mrs. Ida Williams, two brothers, 
  Albert at present in France and David of North English.
  
  She also leaves a host of friends who will miss one who was always ready 
  to share their joys and sorrows.
  
  Funeral services were held on Sunday,  January 6th, 1919, conducted by  
  Rev. Frank  Butterfield,  and her  body  was  laid to  rest  in Sorden  
  cemetery.
  
  We extend to the bereaved our deepest sympathy and pray that the God of 
  all consolations may comfort them in this, their hour of grief.
