W.E. MORRISON DIES APRIL 30 Walter Ellis Morrison, died April 30 at Veterans hospital at Iowa City. He was 89 years of age. He was born October 23, 1896 to Edward and Nellie Struble Morrison. He attended Porter school in the Pigeon neighborhood. He graduated in 1914 from Keswick. He enlisted early in the Army in 1918. Ellis married Rena Schilling in 1920. She died in 1924. He then married Mabel Hart of Webster. She died in 1939. He spent most of his life in the Keswick community, except for the last nine years. He spent those with his daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Pete Montross of rural Millersburg. He was active in the American Legion, Mayor of Keswick, and served on the school board for many years. He farmed northeast of Keswick. He operated a feed and poultry store for 20 years and later sold seed corn. He is survived by three sons, Lloyd of Sigourney; Kenneth of Gross Point, Michigan and Max of Indianola; one daughter, Mrs. Pete (Beverly) Montross of Millersburg; 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond, North English and Roscoe of Des Moines; two sisters, Mrs. Clem (Ruth) Seiwert, Sigourney and Mrs. Harold (Mary Fern) Franklin of Iowa City. He was preceded in death by his parents, his two wives, four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held at 1:30 Friday, May 2, at Keswick United Methodist church. The Rev. Ronald Clayton and Don Ridenour officiated. Music was provided by Miss Claudia Churchill. Casketbearers were his grandsons, Larry Montross, Steve Montross, Bill Montross, Rick Morrison Mike Morrison, Gary Morrison, Richard Morrison, and Darrell Morrison. Interment was in Sorden Cemetery near Keswick. Military honors at graveside by James Murphy Post 819 American Legion. Powell Funeral home was in charge of arrangements. May 7, 1986 MRS. ELLIS MORRISON Bonnie Mabel the youngest daughter of George and Emley Hart, was born near Colfax, Iowa July 22, 1908 and passed away at the Mahaska hospital in Oskaloosa on Saturday, July 8 after a short illness, at the age of 30 years and 11 months, 14 days. She attended school and grew to womanhood in the Webster neighborhood. She was affiliated with the Methodist church in Webster and later in Keswick. She was active and willing worker in church and community affairs. Recently she had been elected president of the American Legion Auxiliary here. On September 17, 1925 she was united in marriage with Ellis Morrison when they had resided in the Webster neighborhood for one year. They then moved to a farm near White Pigeon and later to Keswick. She was preceded in death by her father and mother. To this union was born three children, Kenneth Dale 13, Max Elroy 11, and Beverly Jean 5. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband and children, five sisters, one brother; Mrs. Cora Leach of Grinnell, William Irven Hart of Ottumwa, Mrs. Cecile Vought, Montezuma, Mrs. Nettie Hasley, Ollie, Mrs. Nina Butts, Ottumwa and Mrs. Grace Rohloff, Sigourney and a host of other relatives and friends. After a short service at the home, the funeral service was held at the Methodist church of Keswick at 2:00 o'clock, Monday, July 10. Rev. Wesley Cole of Osceola was in charge.
