Hazelbaker Passes at Home John Henry Hazelbaker, 73 years old, and a retired farmer, died at his home, 1429 Walla Walla Avenue this morning. He had lived in and near Walla Walla for the past 15 years and since 1929 had been retired from active farming operations. Mr.Hazelbaker was born March 8, 1862 in Muncie, Ind. but came West when he was 19 years old. He was married December 23, 1890 at Myron, Neb, to Margaret Jane Gibson, who survives him. From Nebraska he moved further west eventually to the Walla Walla valley. In addition to his widow, he leaves one daughter, Mrs. Robert Southern of Walla Walla, three sons, Elmer L., and Thomas C. Hazelbaker of Walla Walla; and Edward E. Hazelbaker of Touchet; two sisters, Mrs. Stuckey of Alberta, Canada and Mrs. J.H. McDonald of Grangeville (Idaho); three brothers, Joseph B., Christopher E., and Calvin H, the former two of Grangeville and the later of Lewiston (Idaho), and four grandchildren. The paid obituary that appeared the next day has the same information but adds "Remains at the Marshall, Calloway, & Hennessey funeral home (of Walla Walla). Funeral notice later."
