Lyman Morrison of California Dies Lyman Earl Morrison, 65, of Riverside, Calif., formerly of Sigourney, died Wed., April 10, 1996, at Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center of congestive heart failure. He was born July 27, 1930, near Webster to Forrest and Mary Teresa Shannon Morrison. he graduated from the Delta High School in 1947. He married Marietta Wilfaun of Bloomfield on Feb. 6, 1952 in Sigourney. He served in the US Army for two years and was discharged as a corporal in 1954. He was awarded a Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars and United Nations Service and National Defense medals. Hi lived in Riverside for 30 years and was an electrical power lineman with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 1245, having retired in 1992. he is survived by his wife, three daughters, Sherry Fowler of Castle Rock, Colo., Catherine Villegas of Riverside, Calif., and Melanie Brandt of Irvine, Calif.; a son, Curt of Yucaipa, Calif.; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild; two sisters, Helen Nicklaus of Lone Tree and Lois Scurlock of Melcher; and three brothers, Merle of Sigourney, Gerald of St. Louis, Mo., and Jim of Geneseo, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant sons. Services were held April 16 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Riverside where he was a parishioner. Burial was in Riverside National Cemetery. Pallbearers were Merle, Gerald, Jim and Curt Morrison and Arthur and Brendon Villegas.
