Merle Morrison Merle Edward Morrison, 74, died Mon., Oct. 27, 2003, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. He was born March 7, 1929, in South English, the son of Forrest and Mary Teresa Shannon Morrison. He graduated from Delta High School in 1947. He married Earlene Seaba at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney on June 7, 1951. He worked at the Sigourney Community Schools for 25 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney. He is survived by his wife; three sons, Leland of Hampton, Ron of Ollie and Doug of Marengo; nine daughters, Rita Keller of Bartlesville, Okla., Carol of Littleton, Colo., Barbar of Washington, Doris Derby of Marengo, Karen Gettings of Ankeny, Rose of Middle Amana, Mary of Davenport, Connie Alien of LeClaire and Annette of Aurora, Colo.; 17 grandchildren; a sister, Helen Nicklaus of Lone Tree; two brothers, Gerald of St. Louis and Jim of Cordova, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lois Scurlock; a brother, Lyman; and a granddaughter, Ashley Derby. Funeral services were held at St. Mary Catholic Church on Fri., Oct. 31 with the Rev. Philip Ryan officiating. Honorary Casket Bearer was Dean Horras, casket bearers were: Matthew Morrison, Andrew Morrison, Mark Morrison, Michael Morrison, Aaron Morrison, Cody Morrison and James Morrison.
