Mary G. Stoner Mary Grace Stoner, 72, of Sigourney died Wednesday, Oct. 12 at Maplewood Manor at Keota. She was born September 25, 1911 at Oxford, daughter of Talbert C. and Clyde Mahoney Tadlock. She attended rural schools and Williamsburg and Kinross High Schools, graduating in 1929. She attended the University of Iowa, Iowa State Teachers college and graduated from William Penn College in 1964. She taught school for 32 years and retired in 1973 after teaching the last 20 years in Sigourney. She was life member of the Iowa State Education Association, a member of Chapter L., P.E.O., the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She married Orville V. Morrison December 17,1933 at Keswick. He was killed in an accident July 24, 1944. On December 24, 1950, she married Clarence M. Stoner in Iowa City. She is survived by her husband, Clarence; two daughters, Mrs. Don (Mary Jane) Waltman of Louisiana, Mo., and Mrs. Larry (Sherry Kay) Rogers of Laramie, Wyoming; six grandchildren; a stepson, Xen A. Stoner of Bemidji, Minn; four brothers, Ralph Tadlock of Wellman, Raymond Tadlock of Ft. Collins, Colo., Thomas Tadlock of Iowa City and Talbert Tadlock Jr. of Keota; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Faas of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Mrs. Hazel Suter of Sigourney. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, two brothers, and a step-grandson. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15 at the United Methodist Church in Sigourney with Rev. Gary Dobbins officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. No credits. I wonder about the 1964 graduation date and a 1973 retirement. Not my typo. Lyman Morrison.
