ROSCOE MORRISON Des Moines Published on 02/16/2003 in the Des Moines Register Roscoe G. Morrison, 90, of the 600 block of 61st Street died of A respiratory ailment Thursday at home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Windsor United Methodist Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery. Mr. Morrison was born in Webster and had lived in Adel before moving to Des Moines 47 years ago. He was a retired agency manger with Polk County Farm Bureau Insurance Co. in Des Moines and an Army veteran of World War II, when he was awarded a Bronze Star. He was a member of Farm Bureau and American Legion. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed yard work, fishing and hunting. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; a son, Roger of Des Moines; two daughters, Diana Wissler of West Des Moines and Linda Bucklew of Des Moines; two sisters, Ruth Seiwert of Sigourney and Mary Franklin of Iowa City; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Westover Funeral Home. Visitation will continue an hour prior to the time of services Monday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to his church or Hospice of Central Iowa.
