Mrs. Scurlock was born in Keokuk County and had lived in the Melcher-Dallas area many years. She was a retired administrative aide with the Iowa College Aid Commission in Des Moines. Surviving are her husband, Carl; three daughters, Teresa Kendall of Knoxville, Vicki Pavone of Tahoe City, Calif., and Gail Pope of Indianola; a sister, Helen Nicklaus of Lone Tree; three brothers, Merle Morrison of Sigourney, Gerald Morrison of St. Louis and Jim Morrison of Cordova, Ill.; and five grandchildren. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. today at Mosher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas and from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the church, where a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Kavanagh House in Des Moines. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Melcher-Dallas, with burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery there. Mr. Scurlock was born in Exline and had lived in Melcher-Dallas most of his life. He was a restaurant operator and a Navy veteran of World War II. Surviving are three daughters, Teresa Kendall of Knoxville, Vicki Pavone of Tahoe City, Calif., and Gail Pope of Indianola; three brothers, Ray of Creston, Gene of Estero, Fla., and Paul of San Antonio; three sisters, Lorraine Rupe of Manhattan, Kan., Kathryn Erickson of Russell, and Karen Luse of Kilbourne, La.; and five grandchildren.
