Williamsburg Myrtle Mary O'Donnell ,87, died Monday, Sept. 30, 1996, in MArcy Hospital, Iowa City, after a yearlong illness. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, St. Mary's Catholic Church, by the Rev. Joseph Roost. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg, where there will be a rosary recited at 4 and a prayer service at 7 p.m. Survivors include a son, Mell "Franny" and wife Margie O'Donnell of Houston; six daughters, Pat (John) Stirk of Fairfax, Va., Rita (Dr. Richard) Schaefer of Pewaukee, Wis., Teresa (Ted Jr.) Ingrassia of Rockford, Ill., Rose (Ed) DeMeulenaere of Racine, Wis., Kathryn (John) Riess of Castle Rock, Colo., and Josephine (Custer) Livermore of Chicago; 18 grandchildren, Mike (Cathy), John (Carla) and Pat (Kim) O'Donnell, Tone (Terri), Charlie (Carola) and Dan (Teressa) Stirk, Steve and Joe Schaefer, Marisa (John) Beffel, Ted (Lorri) Ingrassia, Beth (Mike) Donovan, Amy Ingrassia, Conna (Tom) Tigges, Chris (Ann) DeMeulenaere, Cynde (John) Summers, Sheila Riess, Mike (Lisa) Riess and Tim Serantoni; and 18 great-grandchildren, Erin, Michael and Nichol O'Donnell, Colin, Duncan and Devon O'Donnell, Megan O'Donnell, Jonathon and Aaron Stirk, Angela and Teddy Ingrassia, Erin Donovan, Tyler, Spencer, Allie and Max Tigges, Rachael and Gus DeMeulenaere. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Joseph and Walter Smith; and two sisters, Clara Hyde and Bernadine Glanze. Born Nov. 24, 1908 in Delmar, the daughter of Edward P. and Mary Catherine Welsh Smith, Myrtle attended Schools in the Delmar area. On Feb. 1, 1931, Myrtle married Augustine H. "Gus" O'Donnell in Princeton. They made their home in Williamsburg, living at the same address for 63 years. Myrtle loved her family, home and community. She was an avid golfer and gardener. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society, Catholic Order of Foresters and Marica Club and a charter member of Sport Hill Country Club.
