The Clinton Herald Wednesday May 12, 1976 p. 12 Mrs. Leo (Estella) Connel, 64, 215 4th St., DeWitt, died early today in her home. Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church by the Rev. Anthony Conrad. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Hanrahan Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday by the parish Altar and Rosary Society and by parish members at 8 p.m. Estella Welsh was born July 22, 1911, in Clinton County, daughter of Richard and Estella McDonald Welsh. She was married June 18, 1933, in Welton to Leo Connell. They had lived in DeWitt 22 years. Mrs. Connell is survived by her husband; three sons, Wayne of Clinton, Al of Welton and Jerry of Walker; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Senatra, Ames; and three sisters, Mrs. Eve Wenzlick, Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Alyce Burke, Arlington, Va.; and Geraldine Welsh, Las Vegas, Nev. Connell, 86, of DeWitt who died Friday at Stonehill Care Center in Dubuque. The Rev. Joseph Denning will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Schultz Funeral Home in DeWitt. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Mr. Connell was born Oct. 13, 1907 in Tampico, Ill. to David and Julia Callahan Connell. He married Estella Welsch June 18, 1933 in Welton. She died May 12, 1976. He farmed and worked for I.H. in DeWitt as a machinery salesman retiring in 1982. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Phillip (Mary) Sentra of Clackamas, Ore.; two sons, Al of Grand Mound and William G. of Joliet, Ill.; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Vincent of Davenport and Harold of Bettendorf. He was preceded in death by a son. Death date: April 15, 1994. ------------------------------
