Death of Alexander Scott Our information is to the effect that he retired to rest as usual on Wednesday evening, the 23rd, in good health. The early morning found him a corpse, his weary spirit having taken its flight without a struggle. His remains were committed to mother earth on Friday following. At the time of his death he was a resident of White county, where he had been living with a son in the vicinity of Norway. Mr. Scott was born on the 1st day of August, 1792, we believe in the State of Kentucky. From thence in an early day he came to Indiana, and settled in Wayne county near Richmond. In the spring of 1827, he with his brother John came to Cass county by the way of Mississinawa county. They settled on the farm known as the Giles Thrower farm. Having planted a crop of corn and laid it by, they returned and brought their families. Subsequently he moved to the west part of the county and thence to White county. Father Scott was long a faithful and consistent Christian minister, exemplifying his religion by his daily walk. he and his brother were perhaps the first Christian ministers who delivered their messages in Cass county.
