Will of Alexander Scott Jr. In the name of the Benevolent Father of all, I Alexander Scott of Liberty township, White county and the State of Indiana do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner an form following. First; I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Unity R. Scott all my house hold furniture and wearing apparel and Five hundred dollars; and the use, possession, and benefit of the house so long as she may live; said house being my present place of residence; The same to be in lieu of her dower at common law. Second; I give and bequeath to my son Caleb Scott the house, my present residence, at the death of my said wife. Third; It is my will that all my just debts & just charges be paid out of my estate. Fourth; I give and bequeath at the time of my death, or unto my children of such as may be dead in lieu of said child or children, the remainder of my property, not hitherto disposed of, to be divide among them share and share alike. Fifth; I hereby direct that an appraisment and public sale of my property,be dispensed with and that my executors be not required to give hand, but the said executors sell and dispose of my property not hitherto disposed of, at private sale as it may in their judgement seem most advantageous, or for the interest of my said devisees. Sixth; I hereby appoint Caleb Scott and Samuel Scott executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof.
