Bettendorf
			   Francis Shannon

Bettendorf -- Services for Francis P. Shannon, 65, of Bettendorf, will
be noon Wednesday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church.  Burial will
be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Davenport.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport, with a
vigil service at 7:30 p.m.


Mr. Shannon died Sunday, July 20, 1997, at Trinity Medical Center -
East Campus, Moline.

He was an accounting practitioner and owner of Shannon Accounting,
P.C.

He was born May 30, 1932, in Moline, to Joseph and Clara (Gries)
Shannon.  He married Theresa Cunningham on June 25, 1960, in
Millersburg, Iowa.

He was past president of the Accountants Association of Iowa, Knights
of Columbus 3rd and 4th Degree, Loras Council, Gyro International,
Osteopathic Foundation, Davenport Breakfast Lion's Club, Northwest
Businessman's Association and other community organizations and a
former member of the Davenport Rotary.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Ambrose
University or to the family for a special memorial project.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa; daughters, Michelle Shannon and
Colleen Shannon, both of Chicago, and Susan Shannon, Oak Park, Ill.; a
son, Stephen Shannon, Davenport; a brother, Pat Shannon, Sigourney,
Iowa; nieces and nephews; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by a son Michael.
