Duane Goldman OSKALOOSA - Duane Goldman, age 79, of Oskaloosa, died Wednesday, March 30th at the Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 2nd at the Harden Funeral Chapel in What Cheer with Del Bittner officiating. The Keswick VFW will give honors following the service and then Duane will be cremated. Visiting hours will begin after 12 noon on Friday, April 1st at the Harden Funeral Chapel with the family greeting friends from 6 until 8 p.m. that evening. There will be a Masonic service at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 1st during visitation. Duane was born on September 16th, 1925 in Delta, Iowa the son of Leslie and Faymie Wilson Goldman. He was raised and educated in Delta and graduated from the Delta High School in 1943. Duane served in WW II. After returning from the Army be drove a rock truck and later over the road. In August of 1949 he was united in marriage to Marjorie Shannon in Lancaster, MO. In 1964 he moved to Greeley, CO and worked as a mechanic on the Colorado Pipe Line. In 1972 he married Virginia Snedden in Las Vegas, NY. Duane retired in 1983 and moved to Florida where he spent the next eight years. In 1991 he moved to Mountain Home, AK and after ten years there Duane decided it was time to move home, so he bought a home in Oskaloosa, where he resided until his death. His memory is honored by his wife, Virginia Goldman of Oskaloosa; one son, Jerry Duane Goldman of Longmont, CO; four daughters, Sherry Goldman of Rock Island, IL, Marilyn Goldman of Longmont, CO, Nancy Vitale of Evans, CO, and Becky Martinez of Golden, CO; two brothers, Robert Goldman of Ankeny, IA and Joseph Goldman of Peosta, IA; two sisters, Phyllis Spears of Rose Hill and Gail Joye of Ringgold, GA; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
