Leo Eugene Flander L. E. Flander "Gene", age 57, of Bloomington, Indiana died at the Indiana University Medical center in Indianapolis September 10, 1987. He was born August 18, 1930 near What Cheer, Iowa to Leo and Loretta Shannon Flander. He attended rural schools in Keokuk County and also Sigourney Elementary. He graduated from Albia High School in 1948. He served on the board of Peck, Inc. in Bloomington for 18 years. He moved to Bloomington in 1981 when the Company moved from St. Paul, Minn. He served in the Coast Guard in the Pacific. He married Rose Ann Woodrow of Birmingham December 27, 1952 He married Ann Lightfoot of Minnesota October 30, 1970. He is survived by his wife Ann of Bloomington, Indiana; two daughters, Gail Bergen of Bloomington, Diane Delacey of Coon Rapids, Minn.; 5 sons, Jeff of Champlin, Minn., Anthony of Elk Grove, Minn., Patrick of Medicine Lake, Minn. Timothy of Brooklyn Park, Minn. and Bernard J. of Anoka, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Raymond (La Vera) Bruns and Mrs. Charles (Helen) Sheetz of Sigourney, two brothers Mervin of Carson City, Nevada and Leonard of Winterset, Iowa. he was preceded in death by his parents. The body has been donated to Indiana University Medical School or for research. A memorial service was held September 14 at Jay Funeral Home in Bloomington with Captain Andy Miller of the Salvation Army officiating. Eulogies were given by John Peck of Peck, Inc. and Sister Debra Flander, a niece from Santa Ana, California. A memorial fund has been established. Publication unknown (prob.
