			    Alberta Smith

Clinton, Iowa --- Alberta L. Smith, 93, of Westwing Place, De Witt,
formerly of 531 3rd Ave., Clinton, died Friday, Jan 3, 1997, at
Westwing Place.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church,
Clinton. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton.

Visitation in 4-8 p.m. Sunday with a vigil service at 4:30 p.m. at
Pape Funeral Home, Clinton.

Mrs. Smith taught for many years in rural Clinton County schools and
at Sacred Heart School, Clinton.

Alberta Shannon was born May 15, 1903, in Villa Nova. She married
Clarence Smith in 1929 in Villa Nova. He died in 1978.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.
