Leonard Shannon Leonard Shannon 67, of 1809 8th Ave. S. died Sunday morning in Mercy Hospital in Clinton. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart church. Rev. Paul Wetzstein will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Connole, Hobart Boysen, Cleo McDevitt, Alvin Pottratz, Lloyd Hinerichsen, Donald, Norbert and Virgil Shannon. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at Hanrahan funeral home in De Witt. Visitation will also be held after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Snyder-Schmitz Funeral Home in Clinton where the KC's will meet at 7 p.m. and a parish office of the dead will be said at 8 p.m. Mr. Shannon was born March 4th, 1901 in De Witt, the son of the late Michael and Margaret McClimon Shannon. He married Rosemary Costello on February 11, 1930 in Petersville. Mr. Shannon worked 30 years for Carstensen Freight Lines Inc. in Clinton. He retired in 1965. for the last two years he was the bus driver for the Pilot's baseball team. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society of Sacred Heart Parish. Survivors include his wife, five sons; Edward, Richard, John and Robert, all of Clinton and Michael of De Witt; three daughters, Miss Theresa Shannon, Mrs. Jack (Darlene) Kuehl, both of Clinton and Mrs. James (Patricia) Judge. The Mass of the Resurrection will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart church with the Rev. E. J. Weeg officiating. A prayer service will precede the Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Snyder-Schmitz Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where the Parish Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Born December 13, 1909 in Petersville, she was the daughter of Daniel and Mary Agnes Wagner Costello. She married Leonard Shannon February 11, 1929 in De Witt. He died November 17, 1968. She was a member of the Sacred Heart church, the Altar and Rosary Society and Women of the Moose. Survivor's include 3 daughters, Teresa Shannon and Mrs. Jack (Darlene) Kuehl, both of Clinton and Mrs. James (Patricia) Judge of De Witt.; four sons, Edward and Michael of Clinton, Richard of Amarillo, Texas and John of Mt. Joy, Pa.: 14 grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Bernadette Connole of Charlotte and Mrs. Delbert J. (Marcello) Regenwether of Milwaukee, Wis. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son Robert, one daughter and one brother.
