Miss Mary McDermott Miss Mary U. McDermott, 66, died at 12:10 a.m. this morning in the home of her sister, Mrs. C. T. Hanrahan, following a lingering illness. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at Assumption church, the Rev. James Quinlan officiating. Burial will be in Assumption cemetery, Charlotte. Miss McDermott was born in Charlotte, Iowa, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James McDermott. She attended public school here and Our Lady of Angels Academy in Clinton. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Brinkman of Austin, Minn., Mrs. C. T. Hanrahan, Charlotte, and Mrs. Florence Fullan, Chicago; five brothers, Luke and Cleo of Charlotte, John of De Witt, James of Delmar, and Leo of Montreal, Canada. Her parents preceded her in death. The body is in the Hanrahan funeral home in De Witt and was to be taken this afternoon to the home of a sister, Mrs. C. T. Hanrahan in Charlotte. Burial will be in Assumption parish cemetery, Charlotte. The body reposes in the Hanrahan funeral home in De Witt where friends may call after 1 p.m, Wednesday. The rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Florence McDermott, daughter of the late James and Mary Shannon McDermott, was born March 25, 1894 at Charlotte. She married James Fullan at Charlotte, and they lived in Delmar until his death in 1927. She moved to California a number of years ago. Clinton Herald June 1, 1959 Leonard J. Fullan The funeral was Saturday for Leonard J. Fullan, 62, of Sutter Creek, California, formerly of Delmar, who died in Sacramento. The Rev. Brendon O'Doud officiated, Burial was in Mt. Vernon Military cemetery with full military honors. Mr. Fullan was born April 24, 1918 in McLaughlin, South Dakota to James and Florence McDermott Fullan. He was raised in Delmar and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1937. He rose through the ranks to command several vessels of the fleet during World War II and the Korean conflict. He retired from the Navy in 1956 with the rank of commander and recently retired from a post with the California Department of Motor Vehicles. Survivors include his wife, Rita; two sisters, Mrs. Ray (Ruth) Sleeper and Mrs. Joe (Florence) Greer, both of San Francisco, Calif.; and three brothers, William of Crescent City, Calif., Cyril of San Bruno, Calif., and John of Clinton, Ia. M'Dermott Dies Near De Witt DeWitt -- Jean Frances McDermott, 15, died at 5 o'clock this morning in her home north of here, a victim of pneumonia. The body has been removed to the Hanrahan and Fitzpatrick Funeral home here, where it will remain until the services Monday morning in the Immaculate Conception church in Petersville. The Rev. Thomas Lynch will officiate. She was born Feb. 2, 1923 in Welton, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cleo McDermott. She was a sophomore in the Welton high school and a member of the Young Ladies Sodality.
