Thomas L. Shannon Funeral service for Thomas Lucian Shannon, 515 North 3rd St. will be held Friday morning, February 8, at 9 o'clock at St. Patrick's church and interment will be in St. Patrick's cemetery at Villa Nova. Thomas Lucian Shannon was born January 7, 1865 at Villa Nova, the son of Patrick and Julia Lucey Shannon and passed away in Clinton February 6, 1929. He was married January 9, 1894 to Annie C. Farrell also of Villa Nova, who with 9 children survives. The children are; George of Elma, Walter, Lewis and Mrs. Truman Bledsoe Jr. of Chicago; Mrs. Charles Weinbeck Jr. of Clinton; Grace, Irene, Robert and Adrian at home. Leroy and Maurice died in infancy. There are four grandsons and three granddaughters. Surviving also are the brothers and sisters; Mrs. James McDermott of Charlotte; John E. Shannon of Webster; M. N. Shannon of De Witt; J. V. Shannon of Savannah Mo., Mrs. P. S. Farrell of Waterloo; W. J. Shannon of Chicago; Mrs. L. E. Skelley of Kansas City, Mo; and Mrs H. M. Smith of De Witt. One sister, Mrs. Charles Kenney passed away in 1910. Most of his life was passed in Clinton county with the exception of 16 years in northern Iowa (Lawler), returning to Clinton in 1927. The funeral is tentatively set for Wednesday in Chicago. Survivors include a son, Patrick A. Jr. of Omaha, Neb.; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Bledsoe and Mrs. Irene Maus of Clinton, and two brothers, Lewis of Brandywine, Md. and Robert of Logansport, Indiana. Shannon, 73, of Logansport, Indiana formerly of Clinton, died Tuesday June 4, 1985 in Indianapolis General Hospital. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Vincent's church, Logansport, with burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Shannon was born September 28, 1911 in Elma, Ia. to Thomas and Annie Farrell Shannon. He married Sylvia Florian August 14, 1935 in Chicago. He moved to Clinton with his family in 1925 and was a 1928 graduate of St. Mary's High School. Mr. Shannon worked for Sears Roebuck and Company in Chicago and Indiana for many years, retiring eight years ago. Survivors include his wife; a son: three daughters; 11 grandchildren; a brother Lewis of Alexandria, Va. and a sister Ruth Bledsoe of Clinton. He was preceded in death by three brother and three sisters. Clinton Herald Shannon--Farrell Wedding At St. Patrick's church in Villa Nova, a matrimonial event of much interest took place Tuesday morning. The chief contracting parties were Mr. Thomas L. Shannon and Miss Anna Farrell. The bride was attended by Miss Mollie McGarry and Mr. J. E. Shannon acted as best man. At 9:30 o'clock the ceremony was performed by Rev. Father Kiernan in the presence of a large number of invited friends and relatives, at the conclusion of which all repaired to the home of the bride where a sumptuous wedding supper was served. The esteem in which Mr. and Mrs. Shannon are held was attested by numerous and costly gifts presented to them. Both bride and groom are well known in this vicinity and that goodness and prosperity will follow them all through life is the wish of their many friends.
