born: Abt Apr 1775, Frederick Co.,Maryland
died: 1860, Hendricks Co., Indiana
spouse: Maria WATT
marr: 10 Jan 1815, Preble Co.,Ohio
born: 16 Oct 1794

I received the following information from another family researcher, Joyce Wilson.

Daniel first married Eleanor (Nellie) Sellers in Bourbon County, KY in 1807. They had four children. Two in Kentucky and then they moved to Preble County, OH about 1811 and had two more there. Researcher Joyce Wilson believes that Nellie died in childbirth with her last child. He was born in January 1814 and Daniel married Maria in January 1815.

Preble county records show that Daniel purchased two lots (184 and 185) in Eaton from William Bruce on 19 August 1812. He also purchased 65 acres in Washington Township; Section 20 in 1826 but Daniel and Maria McCoy sold the latter on 16 July 1830. No record could be found of his selling the two lots.

Daniel McCoy and part of his family (extent unknown) moved to Indiana in 1830. Daniel settled on a farm in Hendricks County about 3 miles from Jamestown. He sold the farm in 1831 and moved to Jamestown and went into business (Tipton & McCoy) with his son-in-law Jacob Tipton. They continued in business for four years. Jacob Tipton and Sarah moved to Northfield in 1835. Daniel is still listed on the 1850 Indiana Census in Hendricks County. Early Life and Times in Boone County, Indiana states that Daniel McCoy and Jacob Tipton both died in 1860.

Daniel was the son of Daniel Mccoy Sr. and Martha Mariah Perry. His first wife was Elenor (Nellie) Sellers, married on 13 Apr 1807. Their children were: Nathan, Sarah/Sally, Nelly Eunice, and John.
