After his wife Janet died, George married Jane Selinda Simmons, the
widow of George Peter Gilchrist. George Peter Gilchrist was the brother
of George David Miller's first wife Janet Margaret Gilchrist and he
had died at the beginning of 1890.
George and his second wife Jane are in the 1895 Iowa census, in English Twp
of Iowa County.
He's a farmer. Jane's 2 surviving Gilchrist children and their
oldest Miller child are listed with them. In the 1900 census,
he's a farmer in the same place and Jane and George have three
children together: Nannie L., Florence Dale, and Adie H.
In the obituary of Harley Gilchrist (Jane's son from her marriage
to George Gilchrist),
Harley's half-sisters are named Mrs. Arthur Pose of Ames,
Mrs. G.A. Clemins of New Providence, Mrs. Nina Thayer and Miss
Frances Miller of Marshalltown.
