Milton was the son of Jennie (Greene) Griffith,
who was the 2nd wife of Laura's father.
Jennie, a widow, met Alfred Shipman at the wedding of Milton and Laura.
Milton worked in the newspaper business. He was a printer on the
Plattsmouth Herald. He moved to Omaha and worked at the
Omaha Daily News as a printer from 1905-1908 and as a composer
in 1909-1911. In 1905-6, their home address was 4157 Davenport,
and then 2715 Chicago through 1911.
