WELCOME TO THE HOME PAGE OF

BOB YORKS

A MICHIGANDER, A MARINE, AND A UNIV. OF MICH. ALUMNUS

SOME OF MY INTERESTS ARE:
GENEALOGY, BUSINESS MANAGEMENT, ANTIQUES, GOLF, and BOWLING.

The main focus of this Web Site and associated pages will be

FAMILY HISTORY and GENEALOGY

Since the primary purpose of web pages, like these, is to impart information and encourage dialogue, my pages WILL NOT be 'dressed up' with graphics. I get very impatient waiting for graphics to load on many web sites, including other genealogy researchers' web sites. Most of the time, these graphics have no bearing on the subject matter, they are just there in the belief that they make the web site look better. I don't visit web sites to look at pretty pictures. I visit them to gather information.

I am currently researching the YORKS-YERKS-YERXA and the BOWERS family lines.

The YORKS family came into the 'new country' through New York around 1642. The BOWERS family came into Scituate in Plymouth Colony around 1636. I have web pages, linked to this page, which are dedicated to discussions and inquiries of these families. I have missing links in each family that I would like to fill in, and I would appreciate any help that readers may want to give.

Also, I have included a descendency chart for my specific line from Paulis JURCKXEM, the immigrant, down to my father, Gerald Albert Russel YORKS. If any readers believe they may be related, please contact me through the Email link below.

Other families of interest to me, that are related through marriages are: LAMBERT, TURNER, COURTEN, JOCHEMS van WERT, DARETH, and JANSE,and a yet-to-be-determined family of 'Jannetje' who was married to Herman-1726.

A "History & Genealogy of the MILK-MILKS Family" by Grace CROFT, already exists, going back to the immigrant: John MILK, who first appeared in Salem, Mass. in 1662. Anyone wishing information on the MILK-MILKS family is welcome to contact me.

I have opened a Resource Page for Dutch Genealogists, containing links to my web pages on related Dutch families, books containing history and data on Dutch families in general, and links to other researchers web sites.
At PUBLISHERS OF GENEALOGICAL BOOKS you will find lists of publishers with addresses and internet links, where available.
I have also opened a GENEALOGY BB for use by genealogy researchers. You can post questions, reply to existing questions, or post new subjects on the BB. I have started the board off with a NY Dutch subject. ENJOY.
