The Kairos team is formed about 3 months before the event from members of Cursillo, Tres Dias, and Emmaus. The event is held within the R. J. Donovan Prison.

Attendees for the closing must apply for security clearance about 1.5 months before the event.

Attendees for the Closing must provide the following information.
  1. Your name as it appears on your photo ID. The ID must be California Driver's Liscense, California Identification card, or any other photo ID that is accepted by the prison as identification.
  2. Your ID card number.
  3. Your date of birth.
  4. Your social security number.
