Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command,so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. HEBREWS 11:1&2

Faith
Ralph-Spaulding Cushman

I will have faith,
However dreams are shattered;
I will have faith that righteousness can live;
I will have faith e’en when my heart is breaking,
To work and pray and give !

I will have faith
When troubled is life’s ocean,
When low-blown clouds the Pilot’s face shall hide;
I will have faith when my fair ship is battered;
I will await the turning of the tide !

I will have faith
That God is still in Heaven;
I will have faith that He is by my side;
I will have faith though every star is darkened,
That He and truth abide !
..I can remember as a child, sitting in church listening to the minister talking about how God was always there and watching us. I remember naively looking up into the rafters of the church to see if He was there.....I also recall another message by the same man a few years later when he said that God doesn’t do miracles today like he did in the New Testament.I thought about it, and realized I couldn’t just accept that. I had to find out for myself. And that began my search for God.
It took a long time. I didn’t get it totally figured out until I was 25.And that wasn’t God’s fault. It was mine. I looked, but I didn’t see. Finally the words of Ephesians 2:8&9 became clear to me. “For it is by grace you have been saved,through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works,so that no one can boast.”
