SOUTH EAST QUEENSLAND

Several Shires and Councils form South East Queensland and it is my intention to show you the diversity in each.

BEAUDESERT SHIRE

This is the Shire where I live and is south of Brisbane on the Mount Lindsay Highway and west of the Gold Coast.

This is our home at Munruben.

Lamington National Park

Morans Falls, Lamington National Park

St James Anglican Church, Mundoolan Road, Jimboomba.

This church was built by a local grasier on his property. He also built another church at Tamrookum.

All Saints Church, Bell Street, Jimboomba.

Built in 1913 by three local men, "All Saints" was used by the Church of England (Anglican), Baptist, and Methodist (Uniting Church of Australia) until they built bigger churches. The church is presently part of the Jimboomba Uniting church but they are at present negotiating with the Historical Society in an effort to find an organisation who would be interested in removing and restoring the building.

BRISBANE CITY COUNCIL

Brisbane is the Capital City of Queensland and is the City in which I was born and lived untill the birth of our first child. My Father came to Brisbane in 1912 and lived in the area which is now called Bardon. At that time the area was mainly Dairy Farms but is now a Suburb close to the City Center.

LOGAN CITY COUNCIL

Logan City is a fairy new Council. It became a seperate Local Authority on 8 June 1978. Before that it was part of the Albert Shire which no longer exists. (parts of the Albert Shire became part of Logan, Gold Coast and Beaudesert Shire). Our family lived in Logan City from 1974 to 1994.
