John Richard Sabey (1880-1948)
and
Ida Fox (Mrs. John Richard Sabey) (1879-1963)

 John Richard was born October 29, 1880 in Lehi, Utah.  He married Ida Fox in the Salt Lake Temple on November 15, 1905.  Ida was born November 1, 1879, in Lehi to Alfred Marshall and Mary Southwick Fox.

John spent his entire working life as an employee of the Utah-Idaho Sugar Company.  He was first employed at the Lehi Sugar Factory in 1905 as a mechanic.  He was transferred to the West Jordan Factory in 1916 and remained there until he retired in 1945.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and he devoted many years of his life as a scoutmaster.  He was also an active member of his Seventies Quorum.  He died in Midvale, Utah on August 11, 1948.

 

Ida Fox Sabey

Ida Fox Sabey was an excellent homemaker.  She was active in the Church and was president of the YWMIA in the West Jordan Ward and also served on the state board of the same organization.  She died February 5, 1963 in Midvale, Utah.  John and Ida were blessed with nine children:

Leo Fox Sabey

Bessie Sabey, born May 8, 1915; died the same day

Mamie Arlene Sabey, born April 3, 1916; died January 23, 1917

Donald Richard Sabey, born December 4, 1919; died December 27, 1919
