Back to Ann Lewis's Table of Contents William Reed Barker 1909-1981 The Theodore Turley Family Book, pp. 532-533 William Reed, son of Ella Isadora Bushman and Rufus Orrin Barker, was born July 20, 1909 in Fairview, Utah. He married Mada Marie Spencer, born Oct. 15, 1916 at Indianola, Utah. They were married on Oct. 18, 1933 in the Manti Temple. They had three children. Reed Barker graduated from North Sanpete High School in 1927. After graduating he went to work on highway construction, spending four years at construction on Boulder Dam as a blacksmith and a shovel mechanic. He later returned to Utah where he had his own jewelry store and watch repairing for four years. He just retired December 20 as operating engineer for Provo City Power Company for 26 years. He has held numerous positions in the Church: in the bishopric for two years; in the presidency of the Sunday School and MIA; and in the presidency of the High Priests Quorum. [Death date from IGI]
