Marvin Eugene Smith, born 3 May 1909, Snowflake, Arizona.  Residence: Salt Lake City, Utah.  B. A. Degree, BYU, 1941; editor of Y News; business manager, Banyan.  Personnel administration; Business administration; Staff member of Public Service Bureau; an officer in 3 of 4 national fraternities to which he belonged.  Trained 3 months in World War II , Camp Lee in Virginia.  Mission to Canada 1929-31; Stake Missionary, Salt Lake Stake for 6 months; President of Deacon’s Quorum 1921; Scout Troup Leader 1926-27; M-Men’s Pres 1927; Counselor MIA 1928 in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada; Counselor, Palmyra Branch 1936-37; Easter States Ward Clerk 2 years; teacher in Sunday School 5 years; in MIA 4 years; Priesthood 3 years.  He married 31 October 1941, Salt Lake Temple, Irene Hilda Stewart, daughter of John William Stewart and Hilda Josephine Youngberg.  She was born 31 October 1911, Venia,Utah.  Attended the University of Utah and McCune School of Music.  Beauty Salon Manager.  Sunday School teacher 3 years; advisor, Girl’s Program 1 year.
