Oliver Rollin Smith, born 8 March 1913, Davenport, Iowa.  Residence: Salt Lake City, Colorado Springs, Provo.  Attended the University of Utah; graduated from BYU (B.A.); PhD. from the University of Iowa.  Professor of Journalism, BYU President of Chapter Delta Phi; National editor of their journal. Served in World War II as a Captain in the Air Corps, U. S., Philippines and Japan.  In ROTC 1946 to date.  President of MIA at BYU; Mission to the Eastern States 1934-36; mission publicity director; High Councilman, East Provo Stake 1947; member of the Granite Stake MIA Board 1933-34; Counselor in Iowa Branch, Northern States Mission; teacher in MIA, Palmyra and Casper Branches; member Utah Parks Council of Boy Scouts 1938-40.  He married 6 April 1942, Salt Lake Temple, Barbara Fay McKay, daughter of Thomas Evans McKay and Fawn Brimhall.  She was born 2 October 1920, Ogden, Utah.  She attended BYU; member of Lambda Delta Sigma officers.  Mission to Switzerland 1937-39.
