Lois Emma Smith, born 24 November 1919, Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.  Residence: Cedar City and Salt Lake City, Utah.  Attended BYU 1 year.  Secretary Palmyra Branch MIA 1937; Primary teacher in Salt Lake 1943.  She married 13 October 1939, Salt Lake Temple, George Winder Whitaker, son of Charles Warren Whitaker and Susanna Paxton.  He was born 6 February 1918, Provo, Utah.  B. S. Degree from BYU 1938.  ZCMI Salesman, Salt Lake City.  Served in World War II in Navy as a Radar specialist; in Pacific theater of operation 10 months; at Tokyo at surrender; received medals for distinguished service.  Ward chorister, Liberty Stake 1940-41; Hillcrest Ward, 1947-48.  Granite Stake music director 1949-50.  In BYU quartet 5 years; teacher in Elder’s Quorum.
