Nathaniel Aikens Smith, born 14 September 1900, Snowflake, Arizona.  Residence: Salt Lake City.  Attended Dixie College 1922-3; LDS Business College 1923-4; Merchant, Real Estate and Insurance salesman; President of Progressive Grocer’s Association 1935-36; Director of Associated Food Store 1941-43; Mission to Southern States 1924-26 (Dist. Pres.); Counselor and President of MIA, Ensign and Emigration wards 1928-30; Pres. of Elders Quorum, Bishop of East Ensign Ward, Emigration Ward, 1930-31, and of 24th Ward, 1935-36; S. S. Teacher 24th Ward 1937-40; Pres. Seventies 1939-41; High Council Salt Lake Stake 1941; Missionary Salt Lake Stake 1939-41.  He married 14 June 1928, Salt Lake Temple, Lydia Heiniger, daughter of Fredrick Heiniger and Elizabeth Bogli. She was born 8 September 1899, Biel Kanton, Berne, Switzerland.  Educated in Biel; McCune School of Music 1941-43.  Belonged to Philharmonic choir 3 years; gives public soprano renditions.  Chorister of Ladies’ Chorus, 24th Ward; plays the zether.
