Carol Ann Barker (Mrs. Bryant Jerome Brown) (1938-2008)

Carol Ann was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints January 23, 1955. She is an active member, attending meetings and activities regularly. At an early age she was active in dancing, singing and drama. She was always willing to entertain others. Carol Ann graduated from Provo High School with a scholarship to BYU. During those years she had many opportunities to develop her talents and serve others. She went to Europe with the U. S. O. Tour from the BYU to entertain the troupes with the play “Bye, Bye, Birdie.” She graduated from BYU in June 1969 and married Bryant Jerome Brown in the Salt Lake Temple on June 4, 1969. President Harold B. Lee performed the ceremony.
Carol Ann taught drama and English at Granite High School in Salt Lake City. She did this after her marriage while her husband finished medical school. He graduated from the University of Utah on June 8, 1974. She has always had some position in the Church; serving as Primary President in the Stake, Relief Society Counselor, Cultural Refinement Teacher, Visiting Teacher, and as teachers in the Sunday School and Primary. She was a member of the repertory theater while in college. She is now living in Torrance, CA where her husband is doing a residency in Gynecology and O. B. At Harbor General Hospital.
